We were excited this fall when Ron and Uncle Peter stopped in and asked us if we would like to carry their pasties! Well, every good Michigan-made store should definitely have pasties we thought, so we gave them a try. Well, long story short, there are GREAT! We have had Uncle Peter’s Pasties at Tip’n the Mitten for a little bit now ,and they officially have a following here! If you haven’t had a chance to try them yet, you are certainly missing out. We carry 4 flavors currently, but we are looking into other flavors as well. We also recently got gravy to go with these tasty treats!

So how did we choose? Well, we have to admit, getting pasties from Lake Orion is not what we thought would happen, however, one taste of these traditional and sometimes, not so traditional hand pies, had us convinced! In addition to the great flavor, the other thing we loved about Uncle Peter’s were the people and the quality of the ingredients. The folks we deal with are friendly and genuinely care about their products.  They care that we get what we need, and they are always there to talk to us when we need them. These are all reasons that we avoid distributors and larger companies, because the small, personal touch, is what we are all about, and so are Uncle Peter and the rest of the staff.

All our pasties are 3/4 lb and made with free range, grass fed, antibiotic, and hormone free meat,  just like they were back in the day.

We also take great pride in only using locally grown organic vegetables. So I guess you could say, we are the only ones truly using an original recipe.
